We get a feature (with a dodgy photo) in Telford and Wrekin’s Insight Magazine (Early Spring edition) which if you live in T&W should have dropped through your letterbox recently. (NB. the article has me saying I came up with the idea… this is not true… the idea for sank•tuary came from all of the guys from safespace )

important
the forecast is for a thaw this afternoon then dropping to -6/7 tonight… this means that the pavements and roads could be treacherous. we do not believe that we can sufficiently guarantee the safety of both staff and others, the last think we want to do is to be the cause of an accident. therefore we feel the most prudent ting to do is not to open.

sank•tuary is open tonight (friday) from midnight… according to radio shropshire temperatures could drop as low as -6… so if you are going out tonight wrap up warm and far be it from me to play mum! but with temperatures that low, so much snow still lying and even worse a bit of a thaw this afternoon… things are going to get very icy… so think about what you have on your feet!
as ever everyone is welcome to come to sank•tuary and call a cab – the cab companies all know where we are – and as you wait you can enjoy a coffee, a hot chocolate and something to eat (on us!) while you wait in the warmth!

thanks to lovefiercely for this music recommendation (on the forum)… how about songs of water experimental/folk/dance from deep in the North Carolina woods… kind of “hip-hillbilly”
North Carolina-based group Songs of Water has emerged from the South East with a sound both ancient and modern in an inventive fusion. This six piece sextet, composed primarily of instrumental music, harbors a wide variety of cultural and stylistic influences. The uncommon use of the Appalachian folk instrument, the hammered dulcimer, melodically leads many of the group’s pieces, followed by the resonance of various acoustic instruments and a brooding foundation of heavy percussion.
I have to say I love… it has resonances of the afro-celt-sound system and sigur ros but completely different at the same time… swirling, piercing, deep, entrancing, awesome.
